The Save Construction Initiative (SCI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Conroy and Hannah Bolton as its new Co-Chairs, marking an exciting step forward in the organisation’s mission to strengthen resilience and drive positive change across the construction sector.
Anthony is a Director of Cost Consultancy Practice Markhams, and is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Anthony specialises in providing Employer’s Agent services on Affordable Housing Developments and has delivered many projects for a variety of Housing Association clients in the North of England for 22+ years. Anthony is a passionate supporter of Apprenticeships and creating career pathways for young people, which is reflected in the high proportion of Apprentices currently employed by Markhams. Anthony is also an assessor for the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
“I am passionate about the success and improvement of the Construction Industry. Being on the ground and with many years experience providing Construction Consultancy services, I have witnessed the challenges the industry faces on a day-to-day basis. Given this experience, I am well placed to provide insight into overcoming these challenges.” – Anthony Conroy, Director, Markhams
Hannah is an Associate Director at DK Architects with over 15 years’ experience delivering a variety of housing, commercial, and mixed-use projects. Her portfolio ranges from private homes, affordable housing, and specialist supported housing to commercial buildings and large-scale, multi-million-pound developments. She brings a strong design-for-construction approach, combining technical expertise with rigorous programme and risk management to ensure projects are delivered successfully without compromising quality. Hannah leads DK Architects’ Practice Management and drives the firm’s strategic direction, including business development, resourcing, and relationship management. She is committed to staff development, mentoring Part I, Part II, and apprentice team members to support their professional growth. Hannah regularly speaks to housing professionals, universities, clients, and industry peers on design quality, compliance, and knowledge sharing.
“With over 15 years’ experience working as an Architect, I’ve seen first-hand both the challenges and the remarkable strengths within the construction industry. From navigating complex, evolving regulations alongside delivery and viability pressures, to addressing skills gaps and mental health, there are real challenges – but equally, there is an incredible breadth of talent, expertise, and dedication across the sector.
What encourages me is the industry’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and its capacity to drive meaningful improvements that better serve our communities. That balance of realism and optimism is exactly what drew me to the Save Construction Initiative. Its focus on practical change, collaboration, and long-term betterment aligns closely with my own experiences and values… and who wouldn’t want to sit alongside the calibre of the regional committee members who each bring enthusiasm, insight, and valuable perspective. It’s a unique opportunity to learn from others while contributing to incremental, collective progress across the industry.” – Hannah Bolton, Associate Director, DK Architects
Together, Anthony and Hannah bring a powerful combination of commercial, technical, and strategic expertise. Their shared commitment to collaboration, skills development, and long-term industry improvement strongly aligns with SCI’s core mission.
